FARMWORKS
Farm Works Software offers a suite of fully integrated farm management programs. These programs are designed specifically to help producers operate their farm more profitably.
Farm Site Mate
Farm Site Mate utilizes a Pocket PC or handheld computer running Microsoft Windows CE 2.0 or higher, or a laptop computer with Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT, along with a GPS reciever for site specific mapping, scouting, soil sampling and variable rate control. Site Mate allows you to easily create maps of field boundaries, weed areas, tile lines, spray paths, soil sample locations, or anything else you may need. These maps may then be used in most GIS programs including Farm Site or Site Pro. Farm Mate also works with most variable rate controllers for precise application of products.
BASIC FARM SITE MATE
- Maps wet holes, weed and insect infestations, and other areas of interest.
- Stores data in an ASCII (.gpl) format on-the-go and saves as an ArcView Shape File or MapInfo Interchange File when completed.
- Allows you to drive around the field and generate an accurate map of field boundaries.
- Logs the locations of soil samples and other important points in the field.
- Allows you to offset logged paths and boundaries.
- Includes easy-to-use zoom features for zooming in on important areas of your maps.
- Works in US-English or Metrics measurements.
- Works with any GPS receiver outputting NMEA0183.
- Includes a "Data" tab that can be used for displaying information being output by your GPS receiver.
- Displays distances of mapped paths, useful for determining lengths of field tiling.
- Displays sizes of mapped areas such as field boundaries and weed areas.
FARM SITE MATE SCOUTING AND SAMPLING MODULE
S’ajoute à Farm Site Mate basic pour inclure les fonctionnalités suivantes:
- Allows you to create soil sampling grids to any size, pattern, and orientation. Site Mate can even automatically assign sample Ids to each point.
- Grids can be square or irregular rectangles.
- Grids can be rotated and moved and then can be used to create background point, path, and polygon layers.
- Allows the loading of any number of ArcView Shape Files as background layers.
- Displays text with areas and points.
- Lets you enter an unlimited number of attributes such as scouting notes for mapped areas and points.
- Includes navigation tools for navigating to gridded points or any known point in a field.
- Includes features for creating and displaying legends for areas and points.
- Includes a "Manual Location Entry" that allows you to simulate GPS by touching the screen at the appropriate location.
- Includes features for creating and displaying legends for areas and points.
FARM SITE MATE VARIABLE RATE CONTROL MODULE
S’ajoute à Farm Site Mate scouting pour inclure les fonctionnalités d’application à taux variable suivantes:
- Works with commonly used variable rate controllers.
- Creates "as applied" maps when working with most controllers. As-Applied data is stored in an ASCII (.gpl) format on-the-go and is saved as an ArcView Shape File or MapInfo Interchange File when completed.
- Gives you the ability to create a legend based on application rate as well as labels for each polygon/area.
- Displays total expected amount of product to be applied.
- Allows you to enter your swath width in order to see an application coverage map on the go.
- Uses ArcView Shape Files for prescription maps.
- Allows editing rates for individual areas/polygons.
- Allows the use of a conversion to convert between different units of measure or to adjust all rates on a prescription map by a set percentage.
FARM TRAC
Farm Trac is a full mapping and auto notation package written for Microsoft Windows. Designed with the farmer in mind, Farm Trac lets you draw, and farm your fields to keep automatic notations for field history and chemical usage on each field.
- Includes easy-to-use drawing tools for drawing fields, structures and landmarks.
- Use scanned FSA maps to help you draw your maps.
- Farm your fields using icons that represent your machinery, animals and personnel to simulate your farming actions.
- Planting a field? Simple. Just select a tractor, driver, and planter; load the planter with seed, fertilizer, and chemicals; go to the field and plant. A notation will automatically be made listing the date, the operation, who performed the operation, the equipment used, kind and rate of seed, fertilizer, and chemicals used. At harvest, record yields per acre as well as totals using scale tickets or a "Harvest Calculator."
- Calculates acreage on your fields, automatically.
- Unlimited zoom, from an entire map of the United States down to a small garden spot. This gives you unlimited space in which to draw your map (no need to ever resize).
- Tracks inputs, production, and crop rotation information.
- Print full-color maps to any Windows compatible printer.
- Ability to create EPA required Pesticide Application Schedules that conform to Worker Protection Standards.
- Note tillage practices, fertilizer rates, herbicide use, weather conditions, crop yields, etc.
- Easy-to-use on-screen help functions.
- Keep maintenance records, oil changes, etc. on equipment.
- Save maps in a Windows bitmap file for use in other programs.
- Keep your field histories automatically so you'll know at a glance which practices work best. No need to type, it's automatic! You just simulate your farming actions and Farm Trac records these actions.
- Record, sort, and print restricted chemical requirements automatically.
- Split or merge fields at any time to reflect changes in farming methods.
- Field colors and patterns change to look tilled, planted, or harvested.
- Record pasture rotations for intensified grazing.
- Print notation listings by field, date, etc. automatically.
- Display text on fields, streams, structures, or create special "notes" that can be placed anywhere on your map and printed.
FARM SITE
Farm Site adds layers and GPS compatibility to Farm Trac. Real-world coordinates work to provide state-of-the-art positioning. Farm Site also supports a limitless number of layers, from soil types or soil tests, to last year's fields or next year's planting intentions. Farm Site works with all major yield monitors, and Farm Works is committed to supporting the widest possible range of equipment.
- Take Farm Trac maps one step further. Draw your map with real world coordinates provided by a GPS receiver or other source.
- Drawing a field can be as easy as clicking on a button or driving around the field.
- Display street maps and other data that is available on the Internet or from the U.S. Geological Survey or a CD from Farm Works.
- Have your field boundaries drawn automatically with Farm Site's auto draw feature and your yield data.
- Create any number of layers to analyze anything in, on , or under fields.
- Print full-color maps to any Windows™ compatible printer. You may either print to a set scale or print the map as seen on the screen.
- Automatically grid any field to any grid size for soil sampling. This procedure will automatically create grid lines as well as the soil sampling points and can be used to automatically fill in the sample ID for each. Points can be created using several different grid patterns and all points can be moved or deleted. These points can be exported for use with Micro-Trak's® Soil-Trak™ or with Farm Site Mate.
- Includes easy-to-use drawing tools.
- Use patterns, as well as colors, for your maps. Overlay layers to see how they relate to each other.
- Import yield data, including moisture, elevation, and any other data collected by all major yield monitors.
- Use Quick Yields to quickly import and see base, gridded, or contoured views of yield data.
- Create averaged, smoothed, or contoured views of any point data, including yield maps and soil tests. You have full control over settings that are used to grid or contour the data. Change the size of the grid on which averages are based, change the number of points used in smoothing calculations, or use the default values provided.
- Display averages based on areas from other layers. Find the average yields for each soil type or for a weed area or show the average pH within a certain soil type.
- Quickly and easily create and display legends. Use the statistical option to automatically create a legend based on the ranges of data that you are working with, or use the Equal Units feature to make your own legend. You have the flexibility to make your own legend the way you want. And, unlike many automatic legends, ours isn't fooled by a few erroneous yield points in your data.
- Import and export data in several formats including Arc View Shape files and ASCII delimited files.
- Use scanned images - as many or as few as you need. These images can be geo-referenced and scaled using your road and waterway maps. You can then trace field and soil type boundaries to produce accurate maps.
- Zoom in on any feature on a map, or see a bird's-eye view of the entire area. Quickly zoom to a certain farm or field with user defined zooms.
- Use the "Show Me" function to display only selected parts of any data. For example, show only areas with certain soil types, or only yields that fall within a selected range.
- Use the coordinate system that fits the job - Degrees, Degrees-Minutes, Degrees-Minutes-Seconds, State Plane, or UTM.
